This January, we're gathering to behold Christ more clearly, and we'd love for you to be part of it.
Every year, our church family sets aside a weekend to slow down, open God's Word together and focus on our Saviour, and this year we're going to be rejoicing in Christ's intecessory work on our behalf.
Scripture teaches us that Christ didn't just die for His people and rise again — He now lives, reigns, and intercedes for us. Our hope was never meant to rest on our own strength or our own faithfulness. It rests on Christ Himself: the crucified, risen, ascended, and interceding Savior.
Over four sessions and a panel discussion, we'll sit together under this truth and consider the comfort, confidence, and joy that come from knowing Jesus Christ prays for His own.

Session 1 — He Always Lives
Christ's Intercession and Our Nearness to God
Hebrews shows us Christ as our great High Priest, who has passed through the heavens and now appears before God on our behalf. Because Jesus always lives to intercede for His people, even weak and needy sinners can draw near to the throne of grace with confidence.
Session 2 — We Have an Advocate
Christ's Intercession and Our Sin
What happens when Christians sin? Scripture doesn't minimize it — but it doesn't leave us in despair, either. We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. This session is an invitation to real comfort for repentant sinners, without ever making peace with sin.
Session 3 — Keep Them in Your Name
Christ's Intercession and Our Keeping
In John 17, we get to listen in as the Son prays to the Father for His people. Jesus prays that His own would be kept, sanctified, united, sent, and finally brought to behold His glory. Come and see the ongoing care of Christ for His church, and the security we have as those the Father has given to the Son.
Session 4 — Who Shall Condemn?
Christ's Intercession and Our Assurance
Romans 8 brings it all to a triumphant climax. If God is for us, who can be against us? If Christ has died, risen, and now intercedes for us at God's right hand, who can condemn? This session proclaims the unshakable assurance that's ours in Christ.
Panel Discussion
We'll close our time together around a panel discussion, reflecting on all we've heard and considering how the truth of Christ's intercession strengthens our prayer, fuels our assurance, comforts us in weakness and sin, and draws us near to God with confidence.
