LADIES DISCIPLESHIP 2026
Spring 2026 Ladies’ Member Groups:
Wisdom from the Word
For the BBC Member Group meetings for women this spring, we will read the book of Proverbs together. This plan will span across 6 sessions. For each session, we will discuss the chapters we have read over the past month. Each member group may be on a slightly different schedule, so rather than give specific dates, we will look at a monthly plan. Your member group will decide the dates for their meetings.

January—Meeting 1: Proverbs 1 to 5
The introduction to the book of Proverbs begins with a father’s words to his son about the value of wisdom. For January, we will look closely at this introduction to the book of Proverbs and consider the way of wisdom.

Read together at meeting: Proverbs 1

February—Meeting 2: Proverbs 6 to 9
Proverbs 6 to 9 continue the introduction to Proverbs with warnings and poetic descriptions of Wisdom and Folly. For February, we will consider what this shows us about the way of wisdom.

Read together at meeting: Proverbs 9

March—Meeting 3: Proverbs 10 to 15
Proverbs 10 to 15 form the first section of the proverbs of Solomon. As you read, take time to notice repeated themes, sections that focus on a particular topic, and verses that you want to discuss together in your group.

Read together at meeting: Proverbs 15

April—Meeting 4: Proverbs 16 to 21
Proverbs 16 to 21 are the second section of the proverbs of Solomon. Again, take time to notice repeated themes, sections that focus on a particular topic, and verses that you want to discuss together in your group.

Read together at meeting: Proverbs 18

May—Meeting 5: Proverbs 22 to 27
Proverbs 22 to 27 contain more proverbs of Solomon as well as proverbs from other authors. As you read, consider how these connect to previous chapters. Note any repeated themes and verses that you want to discuss together in your group.

Read together at meeting: Proverbs 24

June—Meeting 6: Proverbs 28 to 31
In this final section of Proverbs, consider the wisdom of Solomon, Agur, and King Lemuel. This section is shorter to give plenty of time to discuss the themes as well as the conclusion to the book.

Read together at meeting: Proverbs 31

Here are two suggested reading plans:
First, there is no requirement to read before a Member Group meeting. If you haven’t been able to read ahead, please come to the group meeting and simply focus on the chapter that we will read together. Each month, however, we will have the opportunity to read together through chapters of Proverbs. Reading throughout the month together could give us more opportunities to encourage each other with God’s wisdom and to discuss what we are reading throughout the month. As you pursue a Bible reading plan for 2026, consider adding Proverbs to your plan from January to June so that we as ladies of Beaumont Baptist Church are all doing something small in sync with each other.

Reading Plan 1: Focused
For the focused approach, you can read the specific chapters of Proverbs that we will discuss for that month. See the above plan for the schedule.

Reading Plan 2: Intensive
If you want to take your understanding of Proverbs to the next level, you could also choose to read one chapter of Proverbs each day, cycling through the entire book each month. This more intensive approach has a few additional benefits:
-
Become really familiar with this entire book. Many people follow plans to read the entire Bible through in a year, and those are incredibly valuable. However, if you read Proverbs only once in a year, it’s just not enough exposure to become familiar with this book. More than nearly any other book of the Bible, Proverbs was intended to be learned by heart. And yet, we are often more familiar with sayings from secular wisdom than we are with the proverbs of our heavenly Father. By reading the book of Proverbs again and again, we can become increasingly familiar with these truths.
-
Notice connections and repeated themes like never before. As you read these chapters again and again, you will see how certain themes are repeated several times. As topics such as the fear of the Lord, friendship, communication, finances, and building a home appear again and again, the book reveals more and more what God thinks about these practical concerns in our lives.
-
Refresh your thinking and focus on walking the path that Proverbs describes. So often, our priorities seem forced upon us by our culture, by our schedules, or even by other people. But we must filter all of that through the truth of scripture. Proverbs are deep and sometimes mysterious, and yet they were written for our practical use. By studying them deeply and repeatedly, as they were intended, we can make them truly a part of our daily thinking.
Our Ladies Discipleship Coordinator, Desiree Talbert, has put together some additional resources to help as you study Proverbs. You may access those on her website here.
